Emerald Coast

In this piece, I chose to collaborate with the surface rather than cover it. Painted on a natural wood panel, I incorporated the inherent grain of the wood directly into the composition. The sweeping, organic lines of the timber mimic the rhythm of the tide, blending seamlessly with my brushwork to create the texture of the waves and sand. These natural striations act as directional guides, leading the viewer’s eye along the curve of the shoreline and deep into the painting.
